Used Music Extravaganza!

September 17, 2022

Allen Organ Studios, 10 Becker Terrace, Delmar

What a sale!  Several members and friends attended and perused through the vast collection of music and CD’s that we have. There was lots of talking and laughing in addition to buying. Special thanks goes to Brad Day for housing our collection and hosting this event, and to Susan Lohnas for keeping everything so well organized.  Proceeds from the sale, $200, went to the Chapter’s Scholarship Fund for new organists.

Music for Advent

October 15, 2022   11:00AM

St. George’s Episcopal Church, 40 N. Ferry St., Schenectady, NY

Hosted by Brian J. Taylor

Fifteen members and friends attended our “Music for Advent” program at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Schenectady, NY. It was nice to see one of our Young Organist members attending, Jeffrey Boeck. Several members played and/or shared various advent pieces as well as some collection books of Advent/Christmas music. After the program, eight of us walked over to Bountiful Bread for lunch. It was a great way to spend part of a Saturday with members and friends. Special thanks to Brian Taylor for hosting the event.

Members’ Recital

February 18, 2023   3:00PM

First Reformed Church of Scotia, 224 N. Ballston Ave, Scotia, NY

What a memorable Member’s Recital! The afternoon was filled with wonderful organ music played by eight of our members: Jeffrey Boeck, Audrey Daly-Gilman, Alfred Fedak, Justan Foster, Trevor Kahlbaugh, Susan Lohnas, Amanda Marcolin, and Shalisha Woelfersheim. They played works by Richter, Buxtehude, Pachelbel, Elgar, Martin, Krieger, Manz, Bach, Cross, Portman and Fedak on the beautiful four manual, 142 pipe and digital stop Allen hybrid organ installed by Brad Day’s Allen Organ Studios in 2013. Special thanks to Al Fedak for arranging and hosting this event and to Gayle Hinsdill for the reception that followed.

During the recital Al Fedak, Scholarship Chairman, announced that one of the performers, Jeffrey Boeck, a student of Trevor Kahlbaugh, is our scholarship recipient for 2023.
