Music Director, full-time, Saint Pius X Church Loudonville:
Dynamic suburban parish of 2,100 families seeks a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our pastoral team. Candidate must have a strong understanding of the rich tradition of Roman Catholic music and liturgy and be able to plan and coordinate music for four weekend Masses in addition to holy days and special events. The ideal candidate must be equipped to welcome, mentor, train and shape the musical sound of a diverse group of volunteer musicians including an experienced adult choir. Candidate will also provide musical support to a 650 student pre K – 8 parish school. A working knowledge and appreciation for both traditional and contemporary styles of music is required. Church has a three manual Wicks organ (2004) and a Steinway piano. This position requires a spirit of collaboration. A wonderful opportunity to build upon and inspire an already solid program. Niskayuna Reformed Church
DIRECTOR OF HANDBELLS/CHIMES
The Niskayuna Reformed Church has an immediate opening for a Director of Handbells/Chimes, a key contributor to the music ministry of the Niskayuna Reformed Church, in partnership with the Director of Music, the other music staff, the Pastor, and the Worship Committee of Consistory.
Responsibilities of the position include managing and directing the Eendracht Bell Choir with 4.5 octaves of handbells. Rehearsals to be scheduled once per week from September to May. Performances are to be scheduled for 4 times per year during worship service. Additionally the Director may collaborate with other staff members to add individual or small ensembles (when appropriate and time permitting) for special services such as Christmas, etc., as well as even the possibility of church exchanges and performances at other venues.
The Director is responsible for creatively working to retain and promote membership in the Handbell choir. At the discretion of the Director, consideration may also be given to the development of a Kinder Klokken choir from the children of the congregation using 2 octaves of handbells, and possibly also a chimes choir with two octaves of chimes. Bells for such groups are available.
The candidate must demonstrate skill and experience playing with and directing handbell groups and must work collaboratively with the Director of Music Ministries and with the Music Committee on performance and rehearsal scheduling. Also included is responsibility for the custodial care of the handbell and chime instruments, their cases, tables, robes, gloves, mallets, sheet music cushions, coverings, lights, music stands, etc. and arrange for their maintenance as needed, as well as ensuring that no one other than the Choir members play or handle these instruments without permission.

Organist (Part-Time) – Salary commensurate with AGO Guidelines
FIRST REFORMED CHURCH – SCOTIA, NY The First Reformed Church of Scotia is seeking to hire an Organist. FRCS has a heritage of supporting and providing quality music for both sacred and secular services. The Organist works with the Pastor(s) and Choir Director to plan musical support for the congregation’s worship. Two Sunday morning services at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Choir rehearsals Thursday evening and Sunday morning, September through June. Additional compensation for weddings and funerals, etc.
Our sanctuary supports our singing with excellent acoustics and with our June Selke Memorial Organ, a 4-manual, 132 rank hybrid (meaning both pipe and digital) organ built by Allen Organ Studios of Delmar, NY and Allen Organ Company of Macungie, PA in 2013.
Per the church’s agreement with Allen Organs, the organist will be available for organ demonstrations and consultation to visitors and contribute to visibility of the instrument. This includes arranging with the organ company for performances twice per year (on average) by a variety of artists.
